Akhalthikhe, where you visit Rabati Castle, originally established in the 9th century. The territory of the fortress is divided into a modern and historical parts. The lower part has shops, cafes, restaurant and a hotel. The upper part comprises of Akhmediye mosque (18th century), an Orthodox church (19th century), Djakeli palace, and the History Museum.

Cave Monastery complex Vardzia (XII). The caves stretch along the cliff for some five hundred meters and in upto nineteen tiers. Complex includes Church of Dormition, Throne room and more than 600 rooms for different types and purposes.
